Kids Tech Academy Summer Camp
This summer camp will be a unique experience as students will learn
computer technology and skills while having so much fun, they will
be talking about the rest of the summer.
We offer a flexible program allowing the students to choose as many
session(s) that interest them. Each day has a theme for the computer lab
according to the schedule below.
Daily
Computer projects/themes

Customized for beginner to advanced learners.

Each Student
will have own computer to work on.

Students
will bring home copies of several software packages that they use in
class for further exploration and development.
Lego MindstormsTM Robotics Workshop
(2 days 2 hrs/day) ages 9 thru 15
Students will experience the thrill of creating and programming real
working robots with the Lego’s Mindstorm system. They will learn
robotics concepts through teamwork and problem-solving challenges
that will immerse the student in the basics of robotics and stir the
imagination.
Digital Imaging
Students will learn about digital cameras and how to transfer images
to the PC. They will learn to use image software to edit and modify
their pictures. Students will then create a picture slide show (with
all the bells and whistles) and bring it home on CD to play on your
PC. All equipment provided, however if you have a camera bring it
in.
Computer Animation
Students will become the director as they learn how to create
stunning computer animation just like at the movies. Kids will have
fun creating cartoons while learning the basics of animation using
state of the art software. All masterpieces will then be viewable
at home along with a free version of the software to further
explorations into the animation world.
Webpage design
Students will learn the terminology and fundamentals of webpage
design. Several easy to use software packages will teach students
to create their very own website that friends and family will enjoy
viewing on the internet. Class work and software will be brought
home for further exploration and development.
Computer Fun
(being phased out)
Students will have fun playing and learning with some the best
software available, including Oregon Trail and the Carmen Sandiego
series. Kids will choose and install dozens of logic, problem
solving, and educational software to work with. Students will be
bringing home many of the games on CD to install on their own PC.
Computer projects and crafts (being phased
out)
Tap into your creativity using specialized software and a color
printer to create fun projects to take home. We will be making
custom greeting cards, banners, posters, mobiles, puppets, iron
on decals and much much more. The choices are unlimited and so
is the fun. Each student will receive a copy of American
Greeting CreataCard™ software to continue the fun at home.
Safety Policy: Internet access (if available) will have strict
controls and all
computers will have virus protection software.
